Obituary

Mildred Griffin-Cole was the first born of four to the late Velma Griffin and Rildie Grant on October 23, 1925. She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in Long Beach, California where she lived since 2003.
Mildred devoted her life to Christ at an very early age as a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church Moscow. Everyone saw her as an extremely
helpful person, always finding a way to spread and display the love of God. She would later become the church's' Superintendent, where she was dedicated and steadfast in her role. In addition to helping others, she had a few hobbies of her own. Mildred was affectionately called "Mudea", she had a unique voice when she sang, You knew it was her and it was beautiful. She was always up for a good fishing day, and most importantly her gorgeous and nutritious garden. Everything was grown with love and had no problem whipping up a hot meal or sharing the items from the garden for literally anyone in need, topped off with her famous Ice Tea. She had a special movie, "Imitiation of Life" and always had wise words if you were having a talk with her.
Mudea is preceded in death by her parents Velma Griffin and Rildie Grant; three siblings Velma, OLen and Thelma. Two children Rosie Mae McCray and Johnny; one grandson Jimmy McCray
She leaves to cherish: Five children, Mildred Flanagan, Cindia R. Grant, Johhnie Levi Cole, Leola Johnson, and Louis Cole. Sixteen grandchildren, Keith Alexander, Kenry Alexander, Raymond Gordon, Bertha Roberson, Norma McCray, Kim Gordon, Cotika Grant, NaTasha Grant, Sabrina Allen, Johhnie Lee Grant III, Quarricas Cole, Anita Smith, Shaundra Flanagan, Terrance Cole, Ayeshia Martin, and Wytishia Dudley. A multitude of great-grandchildren, great-great granchildren, neices, nephews and cousins.
