Obituary for Stancil Monroe Blanks

Mr. Stancil Monroe Blanks was born on May 19, 1960, to the late Eddie K. “Bill” Blanks, and Gracie Stancil Blanks, in Meridian, MS. As a child he was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, of Bailey, MS. He was educated from Middleton Attendance Center, and West Lauderdale High School, in Collinsville, MS. He worked as a roofer, at Nathan E. Daniel Roofing for 40 years, until his health failed, and retired.
On May 28, 1983, he married the love of his life Mary Nell Brown. In their union together four children.
He was a God-fearing man, He was a member of True Foundation Ministry, in Meridian, MS, where he last served as an elder, a devoted decan, and the head usher. He was a great man of God, husband, father, relative, friend, and coworker. A very genuine spirit, and very humble. He had a great sense of humor, and a one-of-a-kind laughter. He was the Jack of all trades, he had built and remodeled many projects in his time. He would lend a helping hand to any and everybody if he could. He loved fishing, football, and especially cheering for his favorite NFL team the “Pittsburgh Steelers”. He loved to travel and take cruises around the world. He was always open-hearted who listened and gave wholesome advice. He was very passionate about his love for others, and almost never says no to anyone. Most of all Stancil was a family man and was very adamant about putting family first.
Stancil departed this earthly life on Monday, May 24, 2021, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. He was 61. His father Eddie K. “Bill” Blanks; mother Gracie Stancil Blanks; sister Daisy M. Blanks; two brothers Ernest Blanks, and Ronnie Joe Blanks all of Meridian, MS, preceded him in death.
He leaves behind his wife of 37 years Mary N. Blanks. Four children, two sons Kedgrin Brown of Canton, MS, and Carlessio (Cheryl) Blanks of Collinsville, MS; two daughters Rhodessa Brown of Meridian, MS; and Latresha Blanks (Leon) Culpepper of Birmingham, AL. 12 grandchildren; Jacarlos Brown, Ryshanique Brown, Daneshia Bell, Mychael Weir, Robert Newsome Jr, Jacob Culpepper, Quinton Brown, Jordin Brown, Layla Brown, Justice Brown, Mortay Hopson, Carlessio Blanks Jr; One great grand Braylen Brown. One brother Eddie C. (Elizabeth) Blanks of Little Rock, MS; two sisters Annie (Otha) Adams of Meridian, MS, and Sarah (Billy) Houston, of Meridian, MS. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, great aunts, uncles, great uncles, cousins and friends.
